
Royal Rajasthan on Wheels,
A regal train journey par excellence across the
land of Maharajas in western India would be on offer from 11th January 2009,
with the launch of Royal Rajasthan on Wheels. The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels
will have a seating capacity of 82 and will have two super deluxe suites, 13
deluxe saloons, two restaurants bars, international spa facilities,
improved water supply and storage, boardroom and internet facilities.
This train, will be a landmark in terms of
comfort, luxury and service.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - New Delhi
The journey
of a lifetime begins at the Delhi Safdarjung Railway station where the
guests are accorded a warm, traditional welcome before the Palace-on-Wheels
pulls out into the night for a week-long luxury cruise through fascinating
Rajasthan.

Day 2 - Jaipur
The Ancient Testimonials in the form of mind-blowing monuments
remind one of the past ages. The city comprises the famous structures like
Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Amber Fort, the best architectural examples of
India. Artistic temples and gardens of Jaipur, marks the atmosphere of
serenity and aestheticism to the lands of Rajasthan. The lively city
observes its ethnicity by celebrating various festivals like Kite festival,
Elephant festival and many others, of Indian origin.

Day 3 - Tuesday -
Jaisalmer
In the heart of the Thar
desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1 1 56 A.D. Here the
yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over
the city. Discover the painstakingly latticed havelis or mansions with
their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim
Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver's skill. Shop for
fine pattu shawls, mirror work and embroidered articles, wooden boxes,
trinkets, silver jewellery and curios.
After lunch on board, go for an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of
Sam, before sipping a refreshing cup of tea. Enjoy the dinner and the
cultural porgramme at a Five Star hotel

Day 4 - Wednesday -
Jodhpur
Next morning the Royal
Palace-on-Wheels is in Jodhpur, a city ringed by a high stone wall
with seven gates and several bastions. This second largest city of
Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its
rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within -Moti Mahal,
Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive
examples of architectural excellence. Near the fort complex lies
Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble.
After lunch at a Palace hotel, return to the Royal Palace-on-Wheels.
While in Jodhpur shop for exquisite handicraft articles including the
famous breeches, embroidered shoes, metal curios, silverware,
paintings and tie and dye fabrics.

Day 5 - Thursday -
Sawai Modhopur
One can almost sense a
life of the wilderness, as the Palace-on-Wheels arrives in Sawai
Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I.
After breakfast a visit is arranged to the Ranthambhor National Park,
wherein are located the ruins of a 10th century fort. This wildlife
sanctuary is considered to be the country's best for observing and
photographing the activities of the tiger. The park, covering an area of
392 sq. kms. is home to more than 300 species of birds. The tiger,
hyena, rate, jackal and fox are among those constituting the carnivorous
population here. Sawai Madhopur is known for its excusive toys, ethnic
ornaments and costumes. Upon return to the Palace-on-Wheels, you leave
for Chittaurgarh, when one gets an opportunity to watch the colourful
countryside passing by in the daylight.

Day 5 - Thursday -
Chittaurgarh
After lunch on board you
are in Chittaurgarh. Images of love and velour; scars of battles lost
and won...thrice-besieged, Chittaurgarh Fort is all this and more.
Moving legends of honor and pride will echo in your mind as you proceed
to Udaipur.
Arrival 16.00 hrs. Departure 05.30 hrs (next day)
Day 6 - Friday -
Udaipur
Udaipur, the Lake City,
was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the Sisodia dynasty
was driven way by the Mughals, in 1559A.D. Perhaps the two most
beautiful sites of Udaipur are the dream-like marble palaces- the Jag
Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the
blue waters of Lake Pichhola.
After lunch at a Five Star Hotel, a visit to the City Palace.
Arrival 07:30 hrs. Departure 17.30 hrs.
Day 7 - Bharatpur / Agra ( Bird Sanctuary Park, Taj Mahal in Agra)
A dash to Bharatpur takes you to a marvelous water-bird sanctuary, a
splendid escape to the world of nature. Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal
holds a powerful fascination for visitors from around India and the world.
Located close to Delhi and just 205 km away, Agra is easily accessible.
Day 8 -
Sunday - Delhi
Arrive at Delhi Safdarjung
Railway station. Breakfast on board and let the pleasant memories of the
past week linger on your mind for a long, long time.

Booking Policy
In case of FITs:
• 50% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking.
• Remaining 50% of ticket value 45 days prior to departure.
In case of Group:
• 50% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking.
• Balance 50% to be paid 60 days prior to departure.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation must be advised by Fax/E-mail/Letter to The Luxury Trains. On cancellation, refund will be made. Certain amount of the ticket value will be deducted as follows.
In case of FITs
• 5% of ticket value 60 days prior to departure.
• 20% of ticket value 30-59 days prior to departure.
• 100% of ticket value between less than 30 days prior to departure.
In case of Group
• 10% of ticket value 60 days prior to departure.
• 100% of ticket value between 0 to 59 days prior to departure. |

The train will comprise of one super deluxe saloon, thirteen deluxe
saloons, two restaurant cum lounge cars, one spa cum board room car, one
kitchen car, two staff cars and two power cars.
Super Deluxe Coach;
The super deluxe coach will have two Suites with a capacity of 4 persons.
Each Suit (Mother of Pearl and Silver Suites) will have double beds, with
spacious sitting area with dressing table, luggage rack, a spacious bath
room with shower and bath tub. The coach also has a common lounge
Deluxe Coach;
Deluxe coach will have 3 double bedded cabins with a capacity of 6
pax. Each cabin will have double beds, seating area, dressing table, luggage
rack with spacious bathroom.
Restaurant Lounge;
The concept of the restaurant lounge is to eliminate waiting time.
The two restaurant lounge cars, combined would have a capacity of 120 pax.
Spa cum Board Room;
International Gym and spa facilities would be available. Corporate and
guests can arrange meetings in the board room which will have modern
facilities.
